Who we are
ColourTemp is an iOS application developed by jackfilmed / Western Approaches, a filmmaking project based in the United Kingdom. The app is available on the Apple App Store.

What data we collect
None. ColourTemp does not collect, store, transmit, or share any personal data.
The app does not require you to create an account, provide an email address, or share any identifying information. You can use every feature of the app entirely anonymously.
Camera access
ColourTemp requests access to your iPhone's camera. This is the core function of the app — measuring colour temperature and flicker from the camera sensor's live feed.
Your camera feed is processed entirely on your device. No images, frames, or video are recorded, saved, or transmitted anywhere. The app reads numerical values from the camera sensor in real time and discards them immediately after analysis. Nothing is stored.
You can revoke camera permission at any time in iOS Settings. Without camera access, the app cannot function.
On-device storage
ColourTemp saves a small number of your preferences locally on your device using iOS's standard UserDefaults mechanism. These include:
— Your mains frequency region preference (50Hz / 60Hz)
— Your preferred frame rate and shutter speed settings
— Your calibration offset, if you have set one
— Whether you have seen the onboarding screens
This data never leaves your device and is used solely to remember your settings between sessions.
Analytics & tracking
ColourTemp contains no analytics, crash reporting, advertising, or any third-party tracking SDKs. We do not use Firebase, Mixpanel, Amplitude, Sentry, or any equivalent service.
Apple may collect aggregate, anonymised App Store metrics (such as download counts and crash logs) as part of their standard developer programme. This data is governed by Apple's Privacy Policy and is not accessible to us in a way that identifies individual users.
Children's privacy
ColourTemp is a professional tool intended for use by adults working in film and video production. The app is not directed at children and we do not knowingly collect any information from anyone under the age of 13. Given that no data is collected at all, this risk is effectively nil.
Changes to this policy
If we ever make changes to this privacy policy, we will update the date at the top of this page. Given the nature of the app — no data collection, no accounts — material changes are unlikely. If we ever introduced data collection of any kind, we would update this policy prominently and in advance.
